Tennis Fundraiser

We are excited to announce that, on Saturday 14th May, Great Shelford Tennis Club will welcome current and former Davis/Fed Cup pros from Bright Ideas for Tennis, who are coming to offer us some coaching with the chance to raise money for charity. Pros who are affiliated with Bright Ideas for Tennis include Marcus Willis, Dom Inglot, Jonny Marray and Danny Sapsford.
Alongside the coaching we'll have a barbecue, cake sale, fastest serve competition, raffle and exhibition matches.
We will be selling tickets for the coaching, with all funds raised being donated to the Richard Darton Tennis Foundation and Tennis For All Uganda. The Richard Darton Tennis Foundation, set up by our very own Hamid, provides tennis for underprivileged children in north Cambridgeshire and has plans to expand. Tennis For All Uganda provides tennis and (more importantly) food for up to 400 kids a week in Uganda. In both cases, the kids the programmes are designed for would never have the opportunity to pick up a racket otherwise. Great Shelford Tennis Club is proud to be planning to support these initiatives.
